Release Notes: L’ange sans ailes

L’ange sans ailes grew directly out of the sound and atmosphere of our previous track, Still. We kept its lightness, openness and several musical elements that had already begun to feel like part of something new. This time, though, the space was filled with a much more personal story.

The lyrics never explain that story completely. They do not need to.

No halo. No light.
You’re here tonight.

For us, that is where the meaning sits. Not in the idea of a perfect saviour arriving with wings and answers, but in somebody real being there when the day feels too long, the crowd becomes small and the hour feels wrong enough.

We sometimes say that we saved each other. Not in a dramatic movie kind of way. More through presence: bringing back movement, confidence, laughter and parts of ourselves we had almost stopped looking for. And the track also carries the tension of wanting to move closer while knowing that not everyone around you would understand or approve.

I want you. I feel you.
Even though I know I shouldn’t.

Underneath the lightness are memories that belong to us, memories of certain places, conversations, difficult moments, feeling safe, longing and the quiet recognition of exactly who stayed close when it mattered.

Still opened the sound and gave it space. L’ange sans ailes filled that space with a small part of our story.
