Juste ton regard cover artwork.

Juste ton regard was our first track written entirely in French. After the openness of Still and the intimacy of L’ange sans ailes, the scenery moved from Ibiza to Marseille.

Less sea breeze, more concrete. A Benz at night. Gyrophares , a word we like so much by its sound, somewhere behind us. And just enough Bonnie-and-Clyde energy to make leaving feel like a perfectly reasonable idea.

We experimented with French horns, MiKs deep male vocal and my brighter female hook. And because French is more than translating words, we had the lyrics checked and refined by a friend who actually speaks the language naturally and understands its rhythm, tone and everyday wording. That helped more than a little. It gave the track a voice that felt lived-in instead of translated.

And then there is this line:

Pas besoin de moula, on est riches.

We do not need the money. We are already rich. Not because the world outside has suddenly become easy. The “storm” is still there. The blue lights are still behind us. The concrete is still concrete. And none of that changes the one thing the track keeps returning to:

Juste ton regard pour me garder.

Whatever happens, your gaze still holds me. It gives me direction. It makes the noise smaller. It reminds me where north is when everything else starts moving. And yes, l’ange sans ailes returned too. We liked it too much to leave it inside one song.

From Ibiza to Marseille. No wings. No pretence. No moula needed.

The world can fall apart. Your gaze still holds me.
