Protecting a Name Takes Longer Than Creating One

We waited almost ten months for the trademark certificates for Solanoxx® and EleGhetto®. Which is a very long time to stay emotionally invested in official mail. And yes, we wanted those names protected. Not because we wanted to put fences around every idea or pretend to be a tiny corporation with a very serious folder structure. We protected them because they already meant something to us.

Solanoxx is not just the name on our music. It is everything around it too, the ideas, images, conversations, stupid jokes, serious moments and all the things we make together before anyone else sees them. EleGhetto has its own place in that world: style meeting concrete, worker-class premium and absolutely no need to pretend the concrete was marble. We wanted both names to have room to grow without discovering one day that somebody else had claimed them first. So we filed the applications.

And waited.

The certificates finally arrived in March. The regular opposition period ended on June 15, 2026. And the DPMA website continued showing it as active until July 13. No objection. No new problem. Just the website simply taking a little personal time. Then the notice disappeared. After ten months, two certificates and far too many completely normal visits to the same government page, the names finally felt safe.

We protected them before everyone had to understand them. Now we can keep filling them with reasons why.
